Left Arm Pain in Women
Left arm pain is most often seen as a sign of a heart attack. However, this pain can be caused also by other things; some of them can be simple, such as sleeping on the left hand.

The most common causes of left arm pain are: bad or poor circulation, chronic illness, prescription drugs, arthritis, injury of the arm, overuse of the arm, noxious stimulation of nerve fibers, spasms, muscle cramps, overusing of the left hand, gas problem caused by food intake, back problems, cervical nerve root compression, frozen shoulder, tissue damage or nerve damage in left arm, etc.
This pain may be psychosomatic nature and can occur if you are under stress. Arm pain can also be caused by pain of another part of the body.If you have this pain, you’ll need to describe it to a doctor in order to help him to understand the problem. Pain looks like this – it occurs anywhere in arm, from the finger tips to the shoulder. It can be dull or sharp; it can be a different intensity and may last. This pain can also be extended to the neck, jaw, back.
If you have noticed this pain, regardless of the cause, you should not ignore it. You must see a doctor who will probably first do an EKG test to you in order to check the possibility of heart attack. Most likely the pain is not a consequence of a life threat, but something less serious. You should not fear the worst, because there are generally other symptoms that go along with a heart attack.
Some of the other methods for detecting the causes of pain can be physical examination, x-rays, blood tests and evaluation of the patient’s description of the pain. Pain can be treated by anti inflammatory medication, other pain relievers, exercises, healthy diet and perhaps surgical intervention if the cause is heart related.
